Burst Mode is proud to be supported by the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography.
NZIPP, (or N-Zipp as many say!) is an internationally recognised organisation, and the only qualifying body for professional photographers in New Zealand. It’s a not-for-profit, and run by photographers, for photograpers.
NZIPP is a not-for-profit organisation, run by photographers for photographers.
Established in 1938, NZIPP has a great appreciation for the history of the industry, coupled with a huge vision as it moves forward collectively.
NZIPP’s aim is to encourage and cultivate friendship, collaboration and the sharing of knowledge between members, alongside setting standards in technical, creative and business practice.
The success of NZIPP comes from the strength of its volunteer network; from the elected Board members, the groups around the country who organise regional events, through to members who make up the Accreditation and Honours Teams. NZIPP’s team is small, and supported by a small team of contracted staff in its Head Office.
The NZIPP community is made up of over 400 members that shoot a huge variety of work from weddings and portraits through to high end advertising campaigns. But of course the photography industry extends far beyond just the photographers and one of the great things about the NZIPP community its amazing relationships with the many photographic suppliers and retailers that share a passion for the industry.
The NZIPP run events throughout the year to develop its members but also with the goal to enhance the awareness and community engagement with professional photography. One of these events is the iconic Iris Awards, which is a photographic print judging competition held annually.
The New Zealand Photography Show conference is a concentrated two days of inspiration and upskilling targeted for professional photographers. Alongside this runs public events which connects the professional community with the general public.
